Event description
With cyber criminals becoming ever more sophisticated and retail leaders raising awareness of the effect of crime in their stores, it is clear that businesses face a wide range of threats.
Along with Cheshire Constabulary, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit and the North West Cyber Resilience Centre (NWCRC), Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer is hosting a conference for businesses from across the county where they can learn more about how to protect themselves from these threats.
Sessions and presentations on cyber security, forensic property marking and a new police Digital Evidence Management System will give businesses a broad overview of how to protect themselves on and offline and what action the police are taking. There will also be stalls with representatives from the police and key Cheshire businesses, enabling those in attendance to ask important questions about their security and make key contacts.
There will be up to 300 places available for 150 businesses on the day (max 2 attendees per organisation), and those in attendance will benefit from the new Cheshire Cyber Security Programme.
The Cheshire Cyber Security Programme has been funded by the Commissioner and Cheshire Constabulary , and will be run by the NWCRC.
The free programme and membership, which usually would cost £500, will entitle businesses to free training for staff on cyber threats; one-to-one support and regular intelligence bulletins.
