Former Chester city centre pub to be turned into new bar and eatery

A new bar and eatery is set to open in a former Chester city centre pub. The venue - known as The Flat Earth - will trade inside the Newgate Street premises previously occupied by The Plumbers Arms. A premises licence application has been submitted for the new bar.

It states: "Small city centre bar/eatery, selling alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks for consumption within the premises and in private adjoining outside areas." The application proposes opening hours of 8am until 12.30am, with alcohol supplied daily between 9am and midnight.

The proposed venue is located next door to the luxury Aparthotel, The Hotel Chester, which opened back in 2021.
