A fourth-generation family-owned bakery firm has successfully raised £18m to support its future growth.

Frank Roberts and Sons is the fourth largest retail bread brand in the UK, with a turnover in excess of £90m and bakeries in Northwich, Cheshire, and Ilkeston, Derbyshire. 

Employing more than 750 people, it serves a mix of national branded retail, own label food to-go and food service customers, under key brands Roberts and Little Treats. 

The investment will be used to fund investment in the bakery and working capital requirements.
