Cheshire West and Chester Council has launched this year’s budget consultation, called ‘Funding our future’. We’d like as many people as possible to take part in our budget simulator challenge – where you can have a go at setting the Council’s budget and submit your ideas. There is also an opportunity to share your views on the Council's proposed approach to setting next year’s budget.
All councils are facing increasing pressures on services and budgets. More people with complex needs require our support and the funding received from Government and through council tax is not keeping up with demand. Like all of us, the Council is also having to manage its money during a period of higher inflation, when the cost of providing services is increasing. We face an estimated funding gap of £47 million over the next four years and hard decisions need to be made about our services to reduce costs and expenditure and give the Council a stable foundation to deliver our ambitious plans for the future.
For further information and to share your views please visit our dedicated website www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/FundingOurFuture
This consultation exercise will be open until 10 December 2023.
