The latest addition to Chester’s craft beer scene at the heart of its railway station is now open, much to its staff’s delight.
Station Tap, in Chester railway station, has now officially opened after two days of previewing the brilliant work carried out to convert the former first-class waiting room.
With friends and family up first followed by a soft launch, Station Tap is now serving customers with many making sure the new owners know how impressed they are.
Will Thompson, area manager for Spitting Feathers brewery, said: “The first few days have been great – the customers have given great feedback on the décor.
“They said it was a no-brainer and couldn’t believe it hadn’t been done sooner and we’re happy on how we’ve kept the original design of the place and on the ceiling from the old first-class waiting room at the station.
“It’s a great place to sit and have a pint as well and it’s great for the area that it’s getting a reputation for craft beer with a few with a stone’s throw of each other.”
For those wondering about options, Will explained: “We’ve been very ambitious with the amount of craft beer we’re selling but we’ve sticking to Spiting Feathers’s roots too with cask beers but has a modern twist.
