Cheshire-based Family Law solicitor Susan Howarth, Founder and Director of Susan Howarth & Company Solicitors in Northwich, has been inducted into the Hall of Fame in The Legal 500 UK Solicitors 2024 Legal Guide.
As one of only seven individuals within the field of Family Law (North West), the Hall of Fame highlights, to clients, the law firm partners who are at the pinnacle of the profession and have received constant praise from their clients for continued excellence.
The Legal 500 is widely acknowledged as one of the definitive guides to the top 500 law firms in the UK, aimed at buyers of legal services. Published annually, ranked firms are recommended purely on merit and reflect a detailed process of research, analysis and assessment conducted in accordance with strict guidelines.
Speaking of Susan and the practice, The Legal 500 said:
“The ‘amazing‘ Susan Howarth & Company Solicitors provides a full-service offering, and owing to its considerably deep and experienced bench, is particularly geared to act on children, family and injunction cases.
Consistent with previous years, the firm has noted a continued uptick in domestic abuse cases including coercive control and controlling behaviour, routinely with drug and alcohol misuse also apparent.
Wielding over twenty years of social care experience before founding the practice in 1997, managing director Susan Howarth is a true specialist in dealing with these cases, as well as possessing a portfolio of high-value financial remedy mandates.”
Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a phenomenal accolade, although those who know and have worked with Susan over the years naturally feel this is a thoroughly well-deserved and justified recognition.
Susan herself, however, is as modest as always, commenting on the announcement:
“Such an award understandably engenders all sorts of human emotion, not least enormous pride, especially when considering all of the other six individuals come from large city firms across the North West.
When comparing my position in a relatively small mid Cheshire niche practice dealing with Family, Conveyancing and Private Client, in the market town of Northwich, understandably I was totally surprised and in disbelief to be ranked alongside such prestigious names in my area of Family Law in the North West.”
Established for over 25 years, Susan Howarth & Company Solicitors has been recognised by The Legal 500 UK for the last 10 years in respect of its Family Law and Care specialist services, maintaining its Band 3 Leading Law Firm status for the last 4 consecutive years.
The firm has also been ranked as a Band 2 Firm for Matrimonial/Family Law (Chester & Surrounds) in the prestigious Chambers & Partners Legal Directory for 3 consecutive years, with Susan and Victoria Poole recognised as Notable Practitioners.
Lexcel-accredited for 11 consecutive years, the firm offers services to both private and publicly funded clients and the company has the benefit of a Family Law Contract and a Mediation Contract with the Legal Aid Agency to enable the efficient delivery to those eligible for legal aid.
Specialist staff are members of Resolution and are Law Society Family Law and Children Law-accredited.
Susan Howarth & Company Solicitors has won the 2023 and 2022 AI Legal Awards for Best Family and Childcare Law Firm (North West) and has been a finalist in the 2020 and 2021 Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards for the Family.
